Bourbon Chicken Crockpot (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3/4 cup soy sauce.
02 - 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped.
03 - Kosher salt and black pepper.
04 - 2 pounds of chicken thighs.
05 - 3 tablespoons cold water.
06 - 1/3 cup bourbon or whiskey.
07 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar.
08 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch.

# Instructions:

01 - Sprinkle salt and pepper over the thighs, then put them into the slow cooker.
02 - Stir together the sugar, bourbon, garlic, and soy sauce. Pour everything over the chicken.
03 - Set to low for 4 hours, or go with high for 3 hours. Keep it covered.
04 - Blend water and cornstarch until smooth, then stir it into the sauce about 30 minutes before it's ready.
05 - Spoon over cooked rice and sprinkle with chopped green onions if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - Can swap bourbon for apple juice if preferred.
02 - Thigh meat stays juicier than chicken breasts.
