Brown Butter Banana (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup brown sugar, lightly packed.
02 - 3 or 4 really ripe bananas, mashed nicely.
03 - ½ cup unsalted butter, browned in a pan.
04 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
05 - 1 teaspoon almond extract.
06 - 1 large egg, room temp.
07 - ¼ cup full-fat milk.
08 - 2 cups plain flour, sifted.
09 - ½ cup colorful sprinkles for fun!
10 - ¼ teaspoon fine salt.
11 - 1 teaspoon baking powder.

# Instructions:

01 - Melt butter in a medium pan on medium heat and cook until you smell something nutty and see a golden color, about 5-10 minutes. Let it cool for a bit, around 5-10 minutes.
02 - In a big bowl, stir the butter and brown sugar together. Toss in the bananas, milk, egg, and both extracts, then mix until smooth.
03 - Carefully stir in the flour, salt, and baking powder. Go easy so you don’t overdo it!
04 - Gently mix in most of the sprinkles, keeping a few handfuls for putting on top. Pour it all into a greased loaf pan and sprinkle the rest over the top.
05 - Bake in a 350°F oven for about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick poked in the middle comes out clean.
06 - Leave the bread in the loaf pan to cool for at least 30 minutes before you cut it up.

# Notes:

01 - Short on time? Skip browning the butter—melted works fine too.
02 - Don't skip letting it cool—it’ll change the texture!
