Garlic Cheese Filled Bagels (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 6 plain bagels

→ Cream Cheese Filling

02 - 8 oz softened cream cheese (let it sit out for a bit)
03 - 1 tbsp white sugar
04 - 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
05 - A small pinch of salt

→ Garlic Butter

06 - 2 tbsp milk
07 - 2 tbsp garlic, finely minced
08 - 1 egg
09 - 1-2 tbsp kewpie mayo (gives it a bolder flavor)
10 - 1½ tbsp parsley, chopped (save some for the top)
11 - ½ tsp salt
12 - 3 tbsp shredded parmesan cheese (and more for sprinkling)
13 - 1 tsp oregano
14 - ½ cup melted unsalted butter

# Instructions:

01 - Toss cream cheese, sugar, condensed milk, and a little salt into a bowl. Use a mixer to whisk until smooth and creamy. Set aside for now.
02 - Stir together the egg, melted butter, garlic, parsley, milk, mayo, oregano, parmesan, and salt in a bowl. Mix until everything’s combined well, then set aside.
03 - Heat up the oven to 350°F. Cut each bagel into 6 sections but don’t go all the way through. Take out a bit from each cut to make room for the filling.
04 - Spoon the cream cheese filling into a bag or pouch (use a ziplock and snip the corner if needed). Squeeze the filling into the cuts of each bagel.
05 - Dunk each stuffed bagel into the garlic butter. Let the extra butter drip back into the bowl before placing on a tray lined with parchment.
06 - Bake for about 11-13 minutes until they’re golden. Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan before serving warm.

# Notes:

01 - This idea is inspired by Calic Bagels, a popular bakery in LA.
02 - Any bagel flavor works, but plain ones keep it classic.
03 - Kewpie mayo gives a creamier texture than regular mayo.
