Melty Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ teaspoon kosher salt.
02 - 2 tablespoons vanilla extract.
03 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
04 - 6 ounces dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped.
05 - 6 tablespoons salted butter.
06 - ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
07 - Flaky sea salt to sprinkle on top.
08 - 3 large eggs, room temperature.
09 - ½ teaspoon baking soda.
10 - 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder.
11 - 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F and get some parchment onto your baking trays.
02 - Melt the butter with chocolate chips in the microwave. Whisk the sugar and eggs until frothy, which takes about 2 minutes. Stir in the melted chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
03 - Combine cocoa, flour, salt, and baking soda into the wet mix. Gently fold in the chopped chocolate. Stick the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm it up.
04 - Use a ¼ cup scoop to make dough balls, set them on the parchment, and freeze for 15-30 minutes to keep them solid.
05 - Take the frozen dough balls and place them a couple of inches apart on the tray. Bake for 8-12 minutes until the edges are set, but the middle is still gooey.
06 - Scatter sea salt on top before eating. Enjoy them warm or store in a container for up to 4 days.

# Notes:

01 - Dough keeps up to 3 months frozen.
02 - If it's too soft, add flour gradually—¼ cup at a time.
