Hong Kong French Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 cup of cooking oil (vegetable preferred)
02 - 2 beaten large eggs
03 - 4 spoonfuls of creamy peanut butter
04 - 6 slices of white or milk bread

→ Toppings

05 - Sweetened condensed milk (add to taste)
06 - 2 spoons of melted butter

# Instructions:

01 - Slather peanut butter over one side of four bread slices. Place two of these together with the spread sides touching, then set a plain slice on top. Repeat the same steps for the next one.
02 - Remove the edges of the bread, forming neat square shapes.
03 - Gently dunk the bread stacks in the beaten eggs. To keep them firm, stand them upright while waiting to fry.
04 - Warm up the oil on medium-low heat around 300°F. Fry each toast until it's golden, turning to cook sides too. About half a minute for edges, and 1-2 minutes for the flat sides.
05 - Dish out while they're still warm and drizzle with butter and condensed milk.

# Notes:

01 - You can swap the peanut butter for Nutella or similar spreads.
02 - Honey or syrup can take the place of condensed milk.
03 - Taste best while fresh and warm.
