1 Dough Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 1/2 cups plain flour.
02 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
03 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
04 - 1 stick of softened butter (1 cup).
05 - 1 cup white sugar.
06 - 1 whole egg and 1 extra yolk.
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
08 - 1 1/2 tablespoons flour for the pink layer.
09 - 1 tablespoon jam (strawberry).
10 - A tiny splash (1/2 teaspoon) of almond extract.
11 - A bit of pink color gel.
12 - 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder.
13 - 1 ounce of melted semi-sweet chocolate.

# Instructions:

01 - Blend the flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
02 - Cream the butter and sugar until smooth. Toss in eggs and vanilla, then the dry mix.
03 - Divide the dough into roughly three equal parts (around 10 ounces each).
04 - Combine one dough part with pink coloring, jam, extracts, and a little extra flour.
05 - Stir another part of dough with cocoa powder and melted chocolate.
06 - Push the dough layers firmly into a loaf pan: pink first, plain next, then chocolate.
07 - Chill in the fridge for 3+ hours or stick it in the freezer for 1 hour.
08 - Slice half-inch pieces of dough. Tidy the edges if you'd like.
09 - Bake at 350°F for 11 to 13 minutes until the edges get a light golden touch.

01 - Gel-based food coloring works best.
02 - You can freeze them for later.
03 - Dip cooled cookies in chocolate if you'd like a fancy touch.
